Beating Retreat Ceremony: 1000 Drones To Be Displayed Commemorating 75 Years Of Independence

NEW DELHI: The Beating Retreat Ceremony 2022 is scheduled to be held on Saturday 29 January at Vijay Chowk in New Delhi with a grand opening. The ceremony is held for 70 years to conclude the formal celebration of Republic Day.

The Union ministry informed that 26 performances are made ready to capture the attention of the watchers with foot tapping music played by various bands of CAPF (Central Armed Police Forces), Indian Army, Air Force and Navy.

Martial song tunes with Indian fervor will be added to the ceremony which will make the event a lot more engaging.

It is also informed that the Massed Band, playing the 'Veer Sainik' tune will be the first band to start their performance in the ceremony which will be followed by Pipes and Drums Band and others. Commander Vijay Charles D'Cruz is engaged as the principal conductor of the Beating Retreat ceremony.

The event today will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with other dignitaries of the country including Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Ram Nath Kovind who is the president and the Supreme Commander of Armed Forces.

The Union Defence Minister informed that a drone show will be organized for the Beating Retreat ceremony to be held today in the national capital Delhi.

For the first time ever thousands of drones will be seen dazzling in the sky above Delhi which will be part of the drone show and during the display synchronized music will be played in the background.

The ministry stated that the drone show is organized by startup company 'Botlab Dynamics' in collaboration with IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) Delhi along with the Department of Science and Technology.

As per information provided by the defence ministry, a drone show of 10 minutes will be held to commemorate the 75 years of India's independence which is observed in 2022 as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The closing ceremony will be completed by playing the tune of 'Sare Jahaan Se Accha' which is an ever-known song for arousing the feeling of patriotism.
