New Delhi: Union Minister Giriraj Singh sparked another controversy with his beef remark while attending a religious function at his Lok Sabha constituency, Begusarai.
The Minister for Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries said that those educated in the convent are not familiar with Indian culture and therefore they end up eating beef when they travel abroad.
This can be prevented if students are taught shlokas, verses and religious passages from Bhagwad Gita, according to various media reports
“I would like to say to people present here, this practice should start from the private schools since at government-run ones, we run the risk of inviting accusations of imposing the bhagwa (saffron) agenda,” he added.
Singh had been mired in controversies with his remarks on CAA agitations as well as his comments on “tukde-tukde” gang.
He had also said that those opposing Modi should be prepared to go to Pakistan.
His comments drew criticism from the opposition.
