Guwahati:
Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' has announced that the upcoming class 10 and 12 CBSE exams will now be held in 15,000 centres across the country instead of the 3,000 centres planned earlier. The decision has been taken to ensure social distancing at exam centres and minimise travel for the board-appearing students.
HRD ministry has also announced that students will appear for exams at schools in which they are enrolled rather than external examination centres. Additionally, examinations will not be held in coronavirus containment zones.
The exams were deferred after the Centre called for a nationwide lockdown to mitigate the spread of the highly contagious coronavirus contagion.
