Children of Covid Warriors to get MBBS & BDS reservation

To honour the sacrifices made by COVID warriors, their children will get reservation in MBBS and BDS courses. The number of seats to be reserved is yet to be disclosed.

New Delhi: The children of people who have been fighting at the forefront to control the COVID-19 pandemic will now get reservation in undergraduate courses including MBBS and BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery).

According to the Union Health Minister, Harsh Vardhan, the reservation provided in the above mentioned courses under the central quota will be applicable in the session of 2020-21.

The selection of candidates will be made by the Medical Council Committee (MCC) via online application on the basis of their rank in NEET 2020.

Even universities like Chandigarh University have decided to offer a 10% quota or reservation for children of 'COVID warriors' along with an additional fee rebate of 10%.

Lovely Professional University (LPU), Phagawara, is also offering free education for children of those affected by coronavirus and frontline workers.

Meanwhile, the government has approved reservation for spouses and children of 'terror attack' victims for both MBBS and BDS courses.
