NEW DELHI: A senior government source claimed on Wednesday that Chinese hackers were responsible for the attack on the computer server of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi. The source also said that the data on the five servers had now been successfully recovered.

"Hackers from China have attacked the AIIMS Delhi server, according to the FIR, which also provides other information. A total of five physical servers out of 100 (40 physical and 60 virtual) had been successfully breached by hackers. Because it is now contained, the harm could have been far greater. The retrieval of data from the five servers has been completed "a source from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare stated (MoHFW).

Reports claimed that On November 23, AIIMS Delhi announced a server failure for the first time. Due to the suspected cyber security breach, two of the analysts assigned to monitor the servers' security have also been suspended.

The e-Hospital data has been restored, according to a statement released by AIIMS authorities. "The servers have been updated with the eHospital data. Before the services may be restarted, the network is to be cleaned. Due to the volume of data and the numerous servers and computers required for medical services, the procedure is taking some time. To ensure cyber security, measures are being taken "they stated.

According to the statement, "all hospital services, including outpatient, in-patient, laboratories, etc., continue to operate on manual mode."

An investigation into the attack on the AIIMS Delhi computer system was started earlier this month by a special unit of the Delhi Police.

According to the sources, A team from the Central Forensic Lab (CFSL) has reportedly been called in to investigate the AIIMS Delhi server that has been hacked in order to determine where the malware assault originated, according to government sources.
