NEW DELHI: On Thursday 11 November Preethi Menon, National executive chairman of the Aam Aadmi Party filed a complaint against Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut for her statement on the freedom movement

FIR has been filed against Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut by Preethi Menon, National executive chairman on Thursday 11 November. Preethi Menon filed a complaint against Kankana along with Mumbai Police for her seditious and inflammatory statement as a guest speaker at a conclave.

Her comments on the freedom movement have brought her into controversies as she stated that Congress is an extension of the British rule and India got her 'real freedom' in 2014. Her remarks referred to the BJP coming to power in the year 2014 and What India got in 1947 was 'bheek' which means alms. Kangana said history has been twisted and misrepresented by excluding many parts and depriving many heroes of the credit they deserve.

Kangana after expressing her thought regarding the Independence of India she herself said that ten cases will be filed against her. Congress leader Gaurav Pandhi tweeted that Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, RSS could never accept the fact that their British masters were forced to leave in 1947 and their slavery had no boundaries. No wonder they didn't hoist the tricolor for half a century and the return of slavery in 2014 was their 'independence and he referred Kangana Ranaut among one of those.

Varun Gandhi, BJP MP tweeted on the statement that "Insulting the sacrifice of Mahatma Gandhi sometimes, respecting his killer sometimes, and now the disdain for the sacrifices of Mangal Pandey, Rani Laxmibai, Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and lakhs of freedom fighters. Should I call this thinking madness or treason?" Gandhi regarded this act as an anti-national act and as a betrayal of those fighters who shed blood for the peace of the nation. Priyanka Chaturvedi leader of Shiv Sena party said Kangana is one of the WhatsApp history fans and tweeted that all the sacrifices of the freedom fighters including Jhansi ki Rani failed to please the master.
