Guwahati: In the aftermath of the violent face-off between Chinese and Indian soldiers in Ladakh's Galwan Valley, Delhi Hotels and Restaurant Owners Association (DHROA) on Thursday announced that Chinese nationals will not be given access to budget hotels or guest house accommodation in the National Capital.

."In view of the nefarious activities of China, it has been decided that no Chinese will be accommodated in Delhi's hotels and guest houses from now onwards. Delhi has about 3,000 budget hotels and guest houses with about 75,000 rooms", DHROA's president Sandeep Gupta and General Secretary Mahendra Gupta said in a statement.

At the same time, the "Boycott Chinese Campaign" of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) is on in full swing and has also garnered the approval of the DHROA, which has said that it will not use Chinese-made products in its hotels and guest houses. The CAIT is also making efforts to get more people from various sectors on board their campaign.

CAIT said that it will now contact national organizations of transport, farmers, hawkers, small-scale industries, consumer entrepreneurs themselves, women entrepreneurs and get them onboard the campaign. The trade body has also said that it aims to ensure that the imports from China are reduced to the tune of Rs 1 lakh crore.

20 Indian jawans were killed at the hands of the Chinese when a clash erupted over the Indian side's refusal to remove a tent. The Indian soldiers were reportedly attacked with prehistoric weapons such as clubs fitted with nails. Army sources said 45 Chinese soldiers were killed or injured in the brawl along Galwan River in the eastern Ladakh region.
