An 18-year-old was friendly with a neighborhood girl against the wishes of her family. The relatives of the girl's family attacked the boy and he succumbed to severe injuries.

An 18-year-old old student of Delhi University who worked as a part-time tutor was thrashed to death by a group of youths in Delhi's Adarsh Nagar on Wednesday. According to reports, the deceased identified as Rahul Rajput was in a relationship with the girl which her family found it untenable. On Wednesday, some of the girl's family members met the boy and beat him up. According to reports, the boy was attacked with sticks and rods which made him unconscious. He was later taken to the hospital, where he succumbed to injuries.

Since the accused and the victim belong from two different communities, the additional police force was immediately deployed in the locality to prevent things from further flaring up into a law and order situation.

As per police investigations, Rajput was pursuing his studies from the National Institute of Open Schooling while also tutoring children of the area in English. Police informed that the group that attacked Rajput included the brother of the girl, Mohammad Raj (20), and a relative Manwar Hussain (20) and three of their friends who are minors. All the five have been arrested and booked for the murder.
