Guwahati: 75-year-old veteran Bollywood and television star Surekha Sikri suffered a brain stroke today and has been admitted to Bombay hospital.
The 'Balika Badhu' actress's condition was reported by her agent Vivek Sidhwani who said that she suffered a stroke earlier today. She was put in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit), and her parameters continue to be monitored closely.
The nurse who looks after her said that around 11 am, Surekha Sikri had a stroke while she was drinking juice. "I rushed her to the hospital and she is currently being treated. I couldn't get her admitted to any other hospital because of the high fees. We do not have that kind of money.
A recipient of three national awards, she was seen in Ayushman Khuranna-starrer 'Badhai Ho', post which she had suffered her first stroke which left her paralyzed.
The actress who once said that she doesn't have the word "retirement" in her dictionary, has also received the Best Supporting Actress National Award. She had collected her award in a wheelchair and was honoured with a standing ovation from those present at Vigyan Bhawan.
