Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh police has said that forensic reports suggest there was no rape in the Hathras case in which a 19-year-old Dalit woman was allegedly assaulted by a group of men on September 14 while she was working on grass fields with her family.

Speaking to media, Uttar Pradesh ADG (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar has said that no semen has been found in the forensic report of the victim. "The FSL report has already clarified that there was no rape on the victim," the officer was quoted as saying.

The officer further alleged that a conspiracy was hatched to create caste tensions on "completely wrong information." Kumar further stated that action shall be taken those who tried to spread misinformation to create "caste tension" in the state.

The police officer further said that the incident was reported by the Dalit woman's brother on September 14. He added that a fresh video has emerged on Thursday, which clearly suggests that her tongue was not chopped off as claimed by some.

According to reports, the forensic report claiming no presence of sperm on the body of the Hathras victim has been sent for further investigation.

In another significant development in the Hathras rape case, three more accused in the case have been arrested after the woman's family lodged a second FIR on September 22 in which they named suspects.

The Hathras rape victim died at the Safdarjung hospital in Delhi on Tuesday after battling for life for two weeks. The victim allegedly sexually assaulted on September 14 in Hathras. The Dalit girl was referred on Monday to the Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi with spinal injuries, paralysis, and cuts in her tongue and died in the early hours of Tuesday.
