Google Photo will discontinue free, unrestricted storage of high-quality photos on June 1. Existing high-quality images and videos are exempt from this change and will not be counted toward the 15GB of default storage that comes with a Google account. However, once the policy goes into force, new high-quality images and uncompressed original photographs will count towards a user's storage.

If you have already hit the 15GB limit and do not want to consider a subscription membership, you can modify the photo quality settings from Original to High. Users may also clear up space by using tools offered by Google for Google Photographs to remove unnecessary photos and videos. Users may do the same in Google One by navigating to the Manage Storage section.

According to Google, "the storage management tool surfaces photos or videos you might want to delete like blurry photos, screenshots and large videos so you can get the most out of your storage."

In order to access the tool, users need to consider the following steps

1. Open Google Photos

2. Click on the account icon on the right corner of the library section

3. Go to Account Storage

4. Tap on Manage Storage

Users will see new sections put out by Google, such as blurry photographs, which will direct them to a grid of hazy or dark photographs. It will also display unsupported videos that users can remove.

1. Android users can tap on Menu and then select Free up space

2. To delete all the items from your phone, you need to tap Free up

Another option for managing storage is to navigate to Google One Storage and click Manage Storage:

1. Go to Google One

2. Select Manage Storage or Free up account Storage

3.  Free up account storage from the Get your space back section

4.  Here you will see deleted files from Google Drive, emails with large-sized attachments, and spam emails that you can clear to create additional space

5. Select review and free data

If users believe that their storage data is being exhausted, they can consider the following premium options

100GB: This Google storage plan costs Rs 130 per month as well as Rs 1300 per year. This subscription includes 100 GB of storage space, additional member advantages, the ability to add family members, and access to Google experts.

200GB: This Google storage plan costs Rs 210 per month as well as Rs 2100 per year. This subscription includes 200 GB of storage space, additional member advantages, the ability to add family members, and access to Google experts.

2TB: This plan costs Rs 650 per month as well as Rs 6500 per year, with the same extra features. Google provides VPN services for this strategy in the United States and is expected to expand it to India.

Apple customers can also use their iPhones or iPads to access Google One. They can also subscribe to the Apple One subscription, which was introduced in India last year and costs Rs 195 and Rs 365 for 50GB and 200GB of storage, respectively. Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+, Apple Fitness+, and iCloud are all included in one convenient subscription with Apple One.
