However, in Mumbai, petrol and diesel have become pricier with the cost of petrol as Rs 119.83 per litre and diesel price has reached Rs 103.07 per litre.

As per the latest revision on Monday 4th April, the price petrol of petrol is increased by 42 paise each litre while diesel prices are hiked by 4 paise per litre.

Notably, this is the 12th revision in the prices of petrol and diesel in the last 14 days.

With the new revised rates, the total hike in the fuel prices in the previous 2 weeks has increased to Rs 8.40 per litre.

It may be mentioned that the increase in fuel prices has resulted in various political turmoil as the opposition parties are demanding a decrease in petrol and diesel prices by staging protests in different parts of the country.

The revision of petrol and diesel prices was paused since the month of November 2021 but from 22 March this year, there has been continuous revision making the fuel available at extremely higher prices.

This comes following the crude oil prices increase during the Russian military invasion in its neighbouring country Ukraine that started in February 2022.
