NEW DELHI: In a sensational development, a trolley with human remains in it was recovered from a trolley bag in the Aravalli Hills in Haryana's Faridabad on Thursday.
It was discovered by an individual who had gone to the hills.
Faridabad Police on Thursday said that the person was killed somewhere else and only some mortal remains were dumped at the location to avoid detection.
Sube Singh, the Spokesperson of Faridabad Police said, "A suitcase with body parts inside was found in a forest area in Faridabad's Surajkund. Prima facie, it appears that a person was murdered elsewhere and a part of the body was dumped here to avoid identification."
He added, "The remains had been wrapped in a plastic bag and a sack. Clothes and a belt were recovered near the suitcase. The entire forest area within the vicinity has been cordoned off. Further investigation underway."
A team from Surajkund Police Station sent them to the mortuary after a forensic investigation.
Meanwhile, this development comes amidst the ongoing investigation into the horrific Shraddha Walkar murder case that shook the nation. Shraddha was allegedly killed by her live-in partner Aaftab Poonawala who later dismembered her body into as many as 35 parts and dumped it in several places across the NCR Region over a period.
Soon after the human remains were found in the Aravalli Hills, another team of Delhi Police also rushed to the location on suspicions that it might have some link with the Shraddha Walkar murder case.
However, Assistant Commissioner Police (Mehrauli) Vinod Narang clarified that there is no such possibility of any link to the case.
On the other hand, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Faridabad NIT) Narender Kadiyan stating that the remains have been kept at the mortuary revealed that they seem to be around two months old. DCP Kadiyan also added that it is unclear as to whether the body is of a man or woman.
