BENGALURU: The police in Bengaluru on Tuesday arrested a 32-year old man for allegedly killing his wife after she reportedly refused to cook tasty fried chicken for him.

Police said that the arrested person identified as Mubarak, 32, is a resident of Tarabanahalli in the outskirts of Bengaluru. The deceased was identified as Shirin Banu, 28.

According to police, Mubarak has allegedly assaulted his wife with a wooden log after her wife refused to cook tasty chicken fry for him and on August 06 she succumbed to injuries.

After the incident, Mubarak reportedly packed the body of his wife in a gunny bag and threw it into Chikkabanawara lake.

Soon after the incident, the accused husband had told the parents of Shirin that she left him. However, her parents were worried about their daughter going missing all of a sudden, grew suspicious of Mubarak, and lodged a complaint against him.

The police of Soladevanahalli have detained him and started interrogating him. During the interrogation, Mubarak broke down and confessed to the crime. The police are still searching for the body of the victim.

Mubarak, who was in the bed-making business, hailed from Davanagere district. He reportedly fought with his wife over trivial matters and also used to beat her up. Shirin had complained to her parents and they had also spoken to him.

Earlier in November of 2020 last, shocking scenes were observed in Palitana at Rajkot when a 34-year-old man allegedly killed his wife and drove with her body on a scooter in broad daylight for 10 km.

The accused, named Amit Hemnani, was caught by few commuters in Rohisala and handed over to the police. An investigation by the police revealed that Hemnani allegedly strangulated his wife over a domestic quarrel at their house in Sindhi Camp Colony.
