With the IT industry fast changing initiating new concepts in data analytics and digital media, the Indian institutes are making sure that it gives adequate training to its students other than simply keeping them limited to bookish knowledge.
In addition to providing the students with a degree for the courses they have taken up in the respective institutes, steps to impart adequate practical knowledge too is being taken care of. Several Indian colleges have, therefore, initiated internship programmes for its students which has also shown bright results in the case of some students. The institutes and colleges are tying up with firms and other organizations so that their students can work on projects in the firms alongside also obtaining an education. This will definitely help the first-time job seekers to be ready for their job.
For instance, the TA Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) in Manipal had launched an 11-month L.E.A.D programme on the campus. This is a training partnership taken up in collaboration with the data analytics firm MU Sigma. TAPMI professor Aditya Jadhav said, “It is aimed at arming students, who know their way around analytics, with managerial and leadership skills.”
One such student to undergo training and education programme under the L.E.A.D. is Suyash Jain, who says, “I wanted to build my foundation in management to improve my leadership skills.” He further adds that his exposure to decision sciences that he received in the 4-month internship at MU Sigma has enabled him to prepare for the placements.
By the end of a course, a student gets ready to take up professional challenges along with also obtaining a degree on the same course. This helps both the student and the firms in hiring well-educated students with adequate practical knowledge in the respective field.
