New Delhi: Air India, which is infamous for operational delays many times has saved four lives on Saturday by delaying the flight.

The flight waited for a team of doctors who were transporting harvested organs, donated by a woman to save four lives in the national capital Delhi.

A 48-year-old woman donated her kidney, liver, and lungs after her death.

An Airline official said that the Aircraft was stopped for 15 minutes after Air India talked to Jaipur Airport. And all three organs were transported to Delhi at the right time.

The Airline said, "The retrieved organs, along with a team of doctors and paramedics staff, were to be flown to the national capital, along with a team of doctors."

"The retrieved organs included two lungs, a liver, and a kidney and were urgently needed to save four lives in Delhi. The Air India subsidiary also informed that this was a 'collaborated effort' of Rajasthan Chief Minister's Office, State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (SOTTO), Air India, Alliance Air, Central Industrial Security Force, and Jaipur airport authorities for this humanitarian cause helped in saving four lives," Alliance Air said.

After the pilots and crew members of the aircraft announced the reason behind the delay, the passengers also "waited patiently" for the organs to arrive at the airport," Alliance Air said.

The Air Alliance further stated that the ground staff of the Airline rushed the team of doctors and paramedics with retrieved organs through security checks as soon as they arrived at the airport.

Airlines Air CEO Harpreet A De Singh appreciated the efforts of his team and said," We are happy that we became part of this life-saving flight. Our aim is to enhance regional connectivity through a safe and efficient operation while meeting the goals of business and social responsibility.
