New Delhi: Much to the relief of theatre-goers, Unlock 5.0 will see the opening of theatres after seven long months. As the nation moved to Unlock 5.0 on October 1, the theatre halls are all set to open on October 15. The Ministry of Home Affairs has allowed the reopening of theatres with only 50% of its capacity and one-seat distance.
Film critic Taran Adarsh shared a list of movies that will be re-released this week. However, more movies will be scheduled in the coming days. The list includes Om Raut's 'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior,' Anubhav Sinha's 'Thappad,' Mohit Suri's 'Malang,' and 'Shubh Mangal Saavdhan.' The theatres will also re-release Sushant Singh Rajput's 'Kedarnath,' which will be a treat for his fans.
The films released in OTT platforms during the lockdown were also being considered for release in the large screens, however, the leading multiplex chains decided not to screen those films. The list includes Dil Bechara, Sadak 2, Gunjan Saxena, Gulabo Sitabo, Khuda Haafiz, and Shakuntala Devi.
The SOPs to be followed by every cinema hall has been released by Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar.
