E Sreedharan, a BJP candidate is also popularly known as Metro-man in Kerala. He has recently lost in the Kerala Assembly Elections 2021 but despite his loss in the recent election he has kept his poll promise. Although, he lost in the Palakkad constituency he has signed a cheque of Rs. 81,525 to help the people of Maduraveeran colony the get back the power connections. The 88-year-old candidate had promised that even if he loses he would help the people and keep his poll promise.
He lost to the sitting MLA and Congress candidate Shafi Parambil in the recent Kerala Assembly Elections 2021. However, some residents of the approached him for help and had complaints that the electrical connections had been cut due to the non-payment of the dues by the families. They further complained that some families of the Scheduled Caste (SC) category had been living without electricity in the houses.
During the 2021 Kerala Election campaign, E Sreedharan had said, "whether or not he wins, all families in the area will be getting power connections."
To keep up his commitment, E Sreedharan immediately wrote the cheque in the name of the Assistant Engineer of KSEB, Kalpathy for clearing the electricity dues of the families. With this 11 other new families in the colony from the Scheduled Caste (SC) category will be getting power connection in their houses. Metro-man had kept his promise of resolving the electricity worries of the people even after his electoral loss.
E Sreedharan is an engineer by profession and has made notable contributions in the making of India's first metro service in Delhi. He joined the BJP on the 4th of March, 2021.
