Miscreants flee with BMW as man pulls over car to relieve himself

NEW DELHI: Rishabh Arora who was driving a BMW in inebriated condition pulled over his car to relieve himself by the roadside. While he was at it, some miscreants arrived and fled with his car.

The incident took place on Saturday night at Noida.

A loan of 40 lakh is pending on the vehicle owned by Arora’s brother-in-law, claim reports.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Noida, Harish Chander told media that it appears that the incident was carried by a few who knew the owner of the car.

An FIR has been launched in this regard.

“The priority is to recover the BMW and ensure arrest of the culprits. It's a serious concern that somebody's car gets robbed like this on city roads,” the DCP told media when he was asked if Arora will be charged with drunk driving.

Arora, a stock brocker, claimed that someone had put a gun to his back while he was relieving himself but cops say that fact has to be verified as he was highly inebriated.

In another incident in March three policemen from Lucknow paid the price for taking a seized SUV for a joyride. The owner of the vehicle had arrived at the police station to claim his vehicle. When he did not find it he used GPS to track his vehicle and noticed that the vehicle moving almost 143 kilometers away from Lucknow in the Lakhimpur Kheri area. He then shut the engine of the vehicle and locked the doors of the SUV which was a Mahindra Scorpio.

For three hours the cops stayed trapped inside the vehicle. It is only after the police requested the owner he unlocked the doors through his app.

A complaint was lodged with Lucknow Police, alleging misuse of his car.

The vehicle was seized and brought to Gomti Nagar Police Station due to an issue involving two parties.
