SRINAGAR: In the rugged terrain of Jammu and Kashmir, security forces find themselves engaged in intense operations. In Uri, a joint contingent of the army and police launched a cordon and search operation in the Hathlanga area. This operation was initiated based on specific intelligence, and it quickly escalated when militants, concealed in the vicinity, opened fire on the troops.

The security forces swiftly retaliated, igniting a fierce encounter. As of the latest reports, one militant has been confirmed killed. Reinforcements have been dispatched to strengthen the siege, preventing any possible escape routes for the remaining militants.

Simultaneously, in the Gadole forest area of Kokernag, South Kashmir's Anantnag district, a search operation entered its fourth consecutive day. This extensive operation was set in motion following the tragic killing of three security officials earlier in the week, attributed to a group of 2-3 Lashkar-e-Toiba militants who sought refuge in the dense forest.

Utilizing cutting-edge technology, including drones, quadcopters, and helicopters, the security forces are leaving no stone unturned in their pursuit of these militants. The search operation has been intensified, with a specific focus on the network of caves scattered throughout the forest, suspected to be potential hideouts for the militants.

ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar expressed unwavering determination, asserting that all trapped terrorists within the Gadole forest area would be neutralized. The operation continues to unfold, with the primary objective being the elimination of the remaining 2-3 militants.

It is essential to note that amid these ongoing operations, retired police and army officers have been actively sharing their insights and analyses with various electronic and print media outlets. Their expertise contributes valuable perspectives to the complex security situation in the region.

The situation in Jammu and Kashmir remains highly volatile as security forces engage in multiple operations. The encounter in Uri signifies the constant threat posed by militants in the region, while the protracted search operation in Gadole forest underscores the determination of security forces to neutralize those responsible for the recent security personnel casualties. The active involvement of retired officers adds an additional layer of insight to the unfolding events.
