Operation Ajay: The Second Flight From Israel Carrying 235 Indians Landed At The Airport In Delhi

NEW DELHI: In response to the escalating conflict between Israel and Hamas, India has initiated a significant effort to evacuate its citizens residing in Israel. The second flight carrying 235 Indian nationals landed in New Delhi, with more rescue operations underway.

The evacuation process began after Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip launched a massive attack on Israel, breaching its security fence and infiltrating by land, air, and sea. The situation quickly deteriorated, resulting in a significant loss of life. Israel reported over 1,300 casualties, while Gaza saw more than 1,530 fatalities, with Israel claiming the elimination of around 1,500 Hamas militants within its borders.

In a swift response, the Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv established a comprehensive database for Indian citizens and urged them to register for evacuation. This "first come, first serve" basis allowed 235 Indian nationals to board the second flight back to India. The government is fully supporting the cost of their return, demonstrating a commitment to the safety and well-being of its citizens.

Indian nationals living in Israel encompass a diverse group, including caregivers, students, IT professionals, and diamond traders. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv swiftly organized the first charter flight, ensuring the return of those who wished to leave the conflict zone. Additional flights are being scheduled for the following days to accommodate more registered individuals.

The Indian Ambassador to Israel, Sanjeev Singla, issued a reassuring message, urging his fellow citizens to stay calm and follow local authorities' guidelines. He highlighted the importance of registering with the Embassy, emphasizing that it facilitates emergency response measures and provides vital information through their communication channels.

India's "Operation Ajay" is a clear demonstration of the government's commitment to the safety and well-being of its citizens abroad. As the conflict continues, the efforts to evacuate Indian nationals from Israel remain a top priority, ensuring their swift and secure return.

In a time of turmoil and uncertainty, India's decisive actions and support for its citizens in the war-torn region are essential in providing relief and hope amidst the ongoing crisis.
