Owaisi slams RSS chief over supposed "two-child policy" remark; problem is lack of jobs

NEW DELHI: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi slammed RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat who in his latest speech had spoken about population control. Bhagwat had reportedly spoken about two-child policy.

While addressing a public meeting in Nizamabad ahead of the Telangana Municipal elections, Owaisi said the country's problem is unemployment and not population.

"Shame on you! I am having more than two children and several BJP leaders have more than two children. RSS has always maintained that the Muslim population has to be controlled. This country's real problem is unemployment, not the population," said Owaisi.

"Modi couldn't give jobs to anyone in 5.5 years. 60% of the population is under the age of 40 and 35 unemployed people commit suicide every day, but Mohan Bhagwat will not talk about it as BJP could not give them jobs," he said.

The RSS chief had also clarified this confusion over his statement on population control and said, "I only said that population is a problem as well as resource, so a policy should be drafted in this regard. The policy will decide how many children one should have. I did not lay down any rule as such because it is not my job."
