Guwahati: People across the world celebrated International Brother's Day on Tuesday with lots of greetings consisting of various wishes and WhatsApp messages inclusive of several heart touching quotes for the brothers.

National Brother's Day is celebrated every year on May 24. This day was created to recognize the special bond between brothers.

Netizens took to the social media platforms and commemorated Brother's Day by sharing innumerable WhatsApp messages, loving wishes and quotes to honour and admire the bonds with their brothers and siblings and all forms of brotherhood.

On this special day, internet users are seen sharing famous quotes and wishes about the unique and exceptional bond with their brothers.

May 24 is officially observed as International Brother's Day accompanied by other countries including Australia, Russia, Germany, France and countries in Asia like India. The day, for the first time, was marked by C Daniel Rhodes hailing from Alabama in the US.

Brother's Day in India and in states like Assam is celebrated in the form of shopping for their beloved brothers and exchanging sweets and gifts to convey their love and appreciation. People of all ages in India observe this day every year to admire their brothers for enriching the lives of their loved ones. Often, individuals plan for a dinner outing or a get-together function at their homes.

This day becomes an ideal occasion to honour the brothers and to acknowledge their importance of them in everybody's lives.

There is another tradition followed in India to honour and appreciate the valuable bond between brothers and sisters.
