PM launches property cards, over 1 Lakh people to benefit

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the physical distribution of property cards under the Survey of Villages and Mapping With Improvised Technology In Village Areas (SVAMITVA) scheme. The launch event was conducted via video conferencing on Sunday morning. PM Modi called this is a "historic move," which is set to transform rural India.

According to a statement by the Prime Minister's Office, the launch of these property cards will help around one lakh property holders download their property cards on their mobile phones, through the SMS link sent to them. The property cards will be physically distributed to the villagers by their respective state governments.

This "historic move" will now enable the people from rural areas to use their property as a financial asset for various financial benefits. The beneficiaries are from 763 villages across six states of the country. there are 346 from Uttar Pradesh, 221 from Haryana, 100 from Maharashtra, 50 from Uttarakhand, 44 from Madhya Pradesh, and two from Karnataka.

Modi also interacted with various beneficiaries of SVAMITVA scheme.
