PM Modi Delighted As Northeast Has Become India’s Top Tourist Destination

PM Modi while replying to a Twitter thread by Union Minister G Kishan Reddy said, “Gladdening trend. Increased tourism means increased prosperity in the region”.

NEW DELHI: On April 4, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his joy over the Northeast's ascent as the nation's top tourism destination. In a tweet, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy discussed the northeast's expected dramatic increase in domestic and foreign tourism in the year 2022. 

The minister added that 100,000 foreign guests and over 11.8 million domestic visitors had travelled to the Northeast. PM Modi while replying to a Twitter thread by Union Minister G Kishan Reddy said, “Gladdening trend. Increased tourism means increased prosperity in the region”.

Due to the government's extensive efforts to make the Northeast region worldwide renowned, there has been a rising trend in the number of tourists.

The Centre has been promoting large development initiatives for an overall expansion of the nation with respect to tourism, from the rise in creating infrastructure to making the region recognisable both commercially and culturally.

The development projects that are advancing the "Ease of Living" in Silchar and the neighbouring areas have garnered praise from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 

Dr. Rajdeep Roy, a member of parliament, discussed Silchar's vikas yatra in a tweet thread. He stated that the quality of life has increased along with the region's economic capacity in all areas, including education, cleanliness, healthcare, water supply, environment, transportation, the availability of affordable housing, safety, and security.

Also, he discussed the CGHS Wellness Centre, the PMGSY (Pradhan Mantri Gramme Sadak Yojana), the PMAY-G (Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana Gramin), and other developmental programmes that are improving the quality of life for residents of Silchar and the surrounding areas.

In reply to the tweet threads by Members of Parliament, the Prime Minister tweeted;

“Glad that the fruits of development are furthering ‘Ease of Living’ in Silchar and surrounding areas.”
