PM Modi launched Garib Kalyan Rojgar Yojana on Saturday, June 20, for the migrant workers in the rural regions of the country.
The main aim of the scheme is to empower and boost the livelihood opportunities in rural India, after the coronavirus-triggered lockdown which saw millions of migrant workers returning home amid the pandemic Covid-19 crisis.
PM Modi shared a video in his tweet quoting "Launching the PM Garib Kalyan Rojgar Yojana to help boost livelihood opportunities in rural India."
It is pertinent to mention here that PM Modi spoke to the migrant workers who returned to their hometowns in the wake of Covid-19 crisis.
This scheme will focus on the implementation of 25 different types of work to provide jobs and create infrastructure in the rural areas of the nation, with a resource envelope of Rs 50,000 crore.
The campaign of 125 days across 116 districts in 6 states aims to work in mission mode to help migrant workers.
