Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired an online review meeting that was attended by Union Minister of Home Affairs Amit Shah, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan and other senior officials of the government in New Delhi on the Covid-19 crisis in the country.

The PM took stock of the situation in various parts of the country and their respective preparedness in fighting the pandemic. He said, "Everybody should observe personal hygiene and social discipline in public places."

"The awareness about Covid should be disseminated widely and a continuous emphasis on preventing the spread of infection should be laid", Modi further added.

Appreciating the efforts of the center, state, and local governments in containing the pandemic situation in Delhi, he directed other state governments also to adopt a similar approach.

Another thing that he highlighted in the meeting is the successful implementation of 'Dhanvanthri Rath' in Ahmedabad for surveillance and home-based care. He also directed that real-time national-level monitoring and guidance should be provided to all states and areas with high Covid positivity rates.
