New Delhi: Responding to the critics of the Union Budget 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gives his point of view on the budget on Saturday. While responding to the reactions created after the budget presentation, Modi termed the critics as the "professional pessimists."

Modi says that the ones who are mocking and are criticizing the government for setting a vision of making India a $5 trillion economy, are actually "professional pessimists".

The Prime Minister said, "There are certain people who are questioning why the government has set such a target, what is the need, why all this is being done? These people should be called professional pessimists."

Notably, the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, during her presentation of the budget on Friday, mentioned the vision of making India a $5 trillion economy by 2024-25.

Furthermore, the PM added another angle to the term professional pessimist. He said that the professional pessimists are unlike the common people. A common people help a person when being approached for help, but the pessimist people will threaten the person instead of helping him in his need.

Explaining the reason behind the $5 trillion economy vision, Modi said that to reach the figure, India's economy has to nearly double. He said, "There is a saying in English, that 'size of the cake matters'... We have increasing India's share to double of what it was, and the benefits of it will reach every Indian."

Citing an example of the developed nations of the world, the PM adds that reaching the present state of development was never so easy for such countries. They too have undergone struggles to be at where they are today and similarly, it is now the turn for India to do the struggle.

As a method to boost the economy of the country, Modi says that the farmers are wealth creators of the nation and hence, the effort should be to uplift the potential for the farmers.
