New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has convened an all-party meeting on Friday (December) 4 to discuss the situation of Covid-19 in the country.

The online meeting has been scheduled at 10.30 am on December 4 with all the leaders of parties in both houses of Parliament Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha.

The meeting is expected to be attended by top officials of the government including Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi and Minister of State Arjun Ram Meghwal.

The meeting assumes significance as it has been called by the government, after Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the work being done for the development of the Covid-19 vaccine by visiting pharmaceutical companies, Zydus Cadila, Bharat Biotech, and Serum Institute of India (SII),in Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, and Pune.

Earlier, also the Prime Minister on November 24 addressed a virtual meeting with the Chief Ministers about the continuous fight against the Covid-19 and the Covid strategy of India. He also spoke about the Co vid-19 vaccine distribution strategy.

In the last few days, cases of coronavirus, particularly in Delhi, have been growing at an alarming rate, with many state and union territories (UT)s governments to prevent the spread of infection

It is noteworthy that after 38,772 new cases were reported in a single day in India on Monday, infection cases in the country have increased to 94,31,691. At the same time, the death toll has increased to 1,37,139 after the death of 443 more people.

There are 4,46,952 active cases in the country, comprising 4.74 percent of the total caseload.
