Pune: The results of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)-Advanced 2020 have been announced by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. Chirag Falor from Pune has secured All India Rank 1 (AIR 1). Falor has scored 352 out of 396 marks.
The JEE Advanced topper of 2020, Falor said that he would further join the United States' Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He after securing AIR 12 in JEE Mains got admission to MIT in March but was attending his classes online from Pune due to the coronavirus outbreak.
A total of 1.6 lakh students registered for the exam while 1.5 lakh appeared for it. Over 43,000 candidates have cleared the exam, out of which 6,707 are girls.
Falor said that he prepared for the last four years for the exam as it was tough and had a vast syllabus to complete. However, at MIT, a student is evaluated on the basis of his or her personality and potential. They also check how much the students can grasp from these opportunities.
Falor, who used to attend his MIT classes online in the day and prepared for the IIT exam at night plans to go back to the United States next year in January.
He studied in Delhi's Pragati Public School, and in St Arnold Central School, Pune till Class X. He has been awarded the Bal Shakti Puraskar for the year 2020 and was praised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the time.
