NEW DELHI: India's lone hope in badminton PV Sindhu takes on second seed and World No.1 Tai Tzu-Ying in the Badminton Women's Singles Semifinal of Tokyo Olympics today.

The stage witnessed a mega encounter as Sindhu, who has looked in great touch all tournament, tried to overpower the current World No.1 and storm into the finals and assure India of another medal.

The two players have played some pulsating encounters in the past and this one was one of the best as this was from Olympics 2020.

Earlier, World's Number 1, Novak Djokovic's hopes of becoming the first man to complete the Golden Slam were smashed after he was beaten by Germany's Alexander Zverev in the singles semi-finals at the Tokyo Games on Friday.

The Serbian's 1-6 6-3 6-1 defeat also ended his dream of winning an Olympic singles gold medal, the only major honor missing from his long list of accolades.

The Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic cruised into the semi-finals of the men's singles event at the Tokyo Olympics here at Ariake Tennis Park on Thursday.
