IAS officer Radha Krishna Mathur, the advisor to Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb, has been appointed as the first Lieutenant Governor (LG) of the union territory of Ladakh the reorganization of which will take effect from October 31, 2019.
He is a retired 1977 batch Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer of Tripura cadre. In November 2018, he retired as the Chief Information Commissioner of India (CIC).
He is a BTech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kanpur. He did his MTech Industrial Engineering from IIT Delhi. He also holds an MBA degree from the International Center for Promotion of Enterprises (ICPE), Ljubljana, IIT Kanpur.
Radha Krishna Mathur has been the Chief Secretary of Tripura and the Union Defence Secretary, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Secretary of India. He also served as the Development Commissioner in the Ministry of Textiles and the Chief enforcement Officer in the Ministry of Textiles in the Central government.
In December 2003, RK Mathur was appointed as the Chief Secretary of Tripura. He was given the charge as the Chief Information Commissioner of India (CIC) in 2016.
The state of Jammu and Kashmir was divided into two Union territories-Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, the development has come more than two months, by the central government after revoking.
