Mumbai: Two months after his arrest on the charges of shooting and viewing porn, Raj Kundra has been granted bail by a Mumbai court.
The bail was granted after Raj Kundra was ordered to pay a surety of Rs. 50,000 for his release.
A 1,400-page charge sheet was filed by the Mumbai Police last Thursday against the business listing charges against him in court.
Stating that a charge sheet has been filed after the completion of the investigation, Raj Kundra appealed for bail on Saturday.
In his bail request, Raj Kundra pointed out that he was being made a "scrape goat" and the charge sheet filed against him does not directly mention his active involvement in shooting " alleged questionable content" in addition to streaming it through mobile apps.
He further asserted that he was falsely implicated in the case.
The charge sheet filed against Raj Kundra states that the businessman was the "main facilitator" and claims that he exploited young women who were struggling in the film industry.
The pornographic videos linked to Raj Kundra were allegedly posted on several websites and sold through subscriptions, the charge sheet stated.
Raj Kundra's wife, actress Shilpa Shetty, has been listed among the 43 witnesses whose statements have been recorded in the charge sheet.
Shilpa Shetty has asserted that she had no knowledge of her husband's activities as she was busy with her own work. She also denied knowing about controversial apps linked to the case such as "Hotshots" or "Bollyfame".
