JAIPUR: The Rajasthan government has announced a salary revision for over 31000 employees working in various capacities just two days before Diwali. B D Kalla, the education minister of Rajasthan announced this happy news. According to Kalla, the pay structure for about 31,473 contractual employees, gram panchayat assistants, education workers, and para teachers has been increased, and their remuneration will now be determined by the duration of their employment.
The minister said that after nine years of service and 18 years of service, the contractual employees, gram panchayat assistants, education workers, and para teachers will henceforth receive salaries of Rs 18,500 and Rs 32,000 respectively. On October 21, the Rajasthani government approved the increase.
"The anticipated 31473 contractual employees, Gram Panchayat helpers, education workers, and paraprofessional instructors now receive new pay scales thanks to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot ji. They would now receive salaries of Rs. 18500 for work completed in 9 years and Rs. 32,000 for work completed in 18 years," mentioned the minister on Twitter.
The order document states that the 'Rajasthan Contractual Hiring to Civil Post Rules' now apply to these positions. Education professionals, paraprofessional teachers, and helpers in gramme panchayats now go by different names.
Former minister and Congress lawmaker Harish Chaudhary referred to the news as a 'Diwali gift' from the state administration to the populace.
Also, after a similar announcement from the Central government, the Rajasthan government raised the Dearness Allowance for state government employees and retirees on September 28. The Rajasthani government increased DA from 34% to 38%, an increase of 4%. Around 8 lakh state government employees and 4.40 lakh retirees benefited from the move to increase the DA.
A 4% increase in the daily allowance (DA) had been announced by the central government in September, and it would take effect on July 1 of 2022.
