Rajasthan Man Held For Assaulting Minor Girls, Creating Explicit Pics

JODHPUR: In a shocker from Rajasthan, the Barmer district police in Jodhpur of Rajasthan have arrested a man for his involvement in a sexual assault and blackmailing case that has become the cause of disbelief in the local community.

The accused man, who hails from Barmer, has been charged with sexual assault and blackmail of more than 40 minor girls and women, with the help of explicit photos and videos he created.

According to news reports, he did not even spare his mother-in-law, by making, editing and putting into circulation her explicit photos and videos. When this fact emerged, the suspect's engagement was cancelled.

The accused has been identified as Mukesh Kumar Damami and he was nabbed by the police recently.

Mukesh worked as a drummer, playing in wedding ceremonies in Barmer. He is alleged to have utilised these opportunities to approach the victim women, thereby coming into close proximity with them.

Thereafter he used to blackmail them, with threats of edit and circulating their candid photos and videos.

It is reported that, unable to bear the strain, one minor and her mother allegedly committed suicide. Coming to know of this incident, the police immediately swung into action and arrested the accused, who is now in police custody.

During his interrogation, the police were shocked to know of the astonishing details that emerged.

The police said a complaint was lodged at Samdari Police Station by a victim on June 6. The victim went on to reveal that many explicit photos and videos of village women and underage girls were in circulation for two months prior to the complaint. On the basis of this complaint, the police then accused Mukesh of perpetrating these acts and also filed a report.

When he was investigated, the police came to learn that Mukesh had been storing spliced explicit videos and photos of many village girls and women on a pen drive.

It was further revealed by the police that Mukesh would habitually approach women and then he would engage in video calls with them, using screen recorders to capture their conversations. When making these calls, he would secretly record videos of the women and young girls without their coming to know about it.

He would later edit these videos and turn them into explicit content with the help of software. After that he would blackmail the victims by threatening to circulate these intimate photos and videos, thereby extorting money from them.

According to reports, it has also been reported that he used to rape some of the women and girls.

Explicit photos and videos taken of over 40 women from six villages in the area under their jurisdiction have seized by the police. As of now, the police are interrogating the suspect and booked him under provisions of the POCSO Act.
