Rajkot: Inspiring story of Ramesh Dangar and Shanto Mukwana

Rajkot: A 2.5 feet man marries a 5.5 feet woman in Rajkot, Gujarat.

The groom, Ramesh Dangar tied the nuptial knot with Shanto Makwana, who is visually impaired on Monday.

The duo has an age gap of seven years and they are a match made in heaven.

"I am happy with this marriage. I am blind by birth. My husband's height might be less, but his heart is big. He is a good person. We are from the same community and he is earning good, said Mukwama, 29. She aspires to be a teacher just like her husband.

Mukwama is pursuing her B.Ed in Junagadh's Mendarda Taluka.

Dangar is 38-years-old. He is a native of Butavadar village of Junagadh' Jamjodhpur Taluka. He is serving as a primary school teacher.

"I will do everything to follow my wife's dream and I am happy that she is going to join my profession soon," says Dangar.

Even though the marriage was arranged, they found an ideal partner in each other. The marriage was approved by the heads of the family.

The marriage was organised by Satyam Seva Mandal, the trust which usually organises mass marriages. However, it has limited its role to organising marriages due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Trustee and advocate of Satyam Seva Mandal said, "We organise mass marriages every year. We find suitable matches for visually challenged girls of our hostel. We are happy that one of our daughters have found herself a suitable match."

Another instance from Gujarat is of a 21-years-old Prachi Sukhani. Her ultimate aim was to make it to the Indian Institute of Management (IIM).

She has 80% vision loss and despite this, she achieved her dream of studying in IIM, Ahmedabad. She expressed that her future goal is to open an NGO for blinds.

People like Shanto Mukwana and Prachi Sukhani are truly an inspiration to all.
