On May 26, the Moon will be at its closest point to Earth, resulting in the largest full Moon appearance of the year, popularly known as the Super Moon. The supermoon on May 26, 2021, is even more spectacular because it also happens to coincide with the year's only total lunar eclipse, the first since January 2019.

Two celestial phenomena will be occurring at the same time, hence the phenomenon will be called a Super Blood Moon.

The Earth blocks most of the Sun's light from reaching the moon and filters the remaining light, giving the Moon a glowy crimson tint known as a "total lunar eclipse."

The first total lunar eclipse of the year will begin at 2:17 p.m. Indian Standard Time (IST) and last until 7:19 p.m. If the sky is clear, spectators around the world will be able to see the Supermoon all night, but the eclipse will only be visible in East Asia, Australia, the Pacific, and the Americas.

According to NASA, the lunar eclipse will be more difficult to see. The partial eclipse, which occurs as the moon moves into and out of Earth's shadow, will be visible shortly after the Moon rises in the evening from India, Nepal, western China, Mongolia, and eastern Russia. However, India will miss out on the entire eclipse.

In India, the entire lunar eclipse is not visible. The partial eclipse will only be seen in portions of India, but the Supermoon should be visible if the sky is clear.

The partial eclipse, which occurs as the Moon rises in the evening, will be visible in Nepal, western China, Mongolia, and eastern Russia, as well as India.

A lunar eclipse and a supermoon are both happening tonight. When the moon is at or near its closest point to Earth, it is called a supermoon. The moon will appear 7% larger tonight. According to NASA, a "supermoon" occurs when the Moon is at or near its closest point to Earth at the same time as it is full. In addition, it will appear brighter in the sky.

This lunar eclipse is unique as the skygazers will see not only a super-celestial event but also a supermoon and a red blood moon all at the same time. This is the first total lunar eclipse in in two and a half years. It happens within hours of the year's closest perigee, making the Moon appear roughly 7% larger than usual.

One huge question is whether or not it is safe to witness the lunar eclipse. And whether or not it will have an effect on a user's health? The lunar eclipse and all phases of a lunar eclipse are safe to witness, according to NASA. You can see it with your own eyes. You don't need any special equipment for this, though those with a "telescope" will be able to see the Supermoon up close.
