Some parts of India will witness the rare spectacle of the annular solar eclipse on Sunday, June 21.

The solar eclipse is the third event to occur following the two lunar eclipses that happened on January 5 and June 5, 2020.

Notably, this is the first solar eclipse in this year.

Today, the moon will orbit between the sun and Earth and will pass squarely across the face of the sun for the stargazers along a very narrow path that will run through some parts of the world. But instead of completely blocking the sun, it will create a "ring of fire" from the sun when it peaks.

The annual solar eclipse will start at 9:15 AM IST and will be visible until 3.04 PM IST. The maximum eclipse will take place around 12:10 IST.

It is to be mentioned that people living along the path of the the annular eclipse that shall pass through Anupgarh, Suratgarh, Sirsa, Jakhal, Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar, Dehradun, Tapowan and Joshimath will witness the annular phase, while the other parts of India can see a partial phase.
