Bengaluru: Bollywood actor Sonu Sood known as the 'Messiah' has done it again. This time he and his team worked overnight to save 22 lives of COVID-19 patients in ARAK Hospital, Bengaluru.

As per reports, the team had received an SOS call at night regarding the shortage of oxygen cylinders in the hospital and they got into action right after.

The team immediately got down to action around midnight and started arranging cylinders through their contacts. It was reported that many people had enthusiastically come forward to help and within a few hours 15 oxygen cylinders could be arranged by the team.

A member of the Sonu Sood charity foundation had got a call from the inspector of Yelahanka Old town, MR Satyanarayana, stating about the emergency at the ARAK Hospital. The hospital had already lost two patients due to a shortage of oxygen. The team verified the news immediately and started reaching out to their contacts. The police force had also come to help while shifting a patient to another hospital as no ambulance driver was available at that time.

Sonu Sood later expressed that this was sheer teamwork and the will to help fellow countrymen during a challenging time like this one. He further added that had there been any delay, many families would have lost their close ones.

He thanked everyone who had come forward to help them in saving so many lives. He stated, "It's such actions by my team members that make me want to keep going on and on and trying to make a difference in the lives of people. I am extremely proud of Hashmath who was in touch with me throughout the whole time and the entire team who helped them".

The situation of the country is grim and the number of positive cases is increasing every passing minute with people gasping for breath and oxygen and hospital beds getting overburdened. In the wake of the situation, the actor has also launched an initiative, "Sanjeevani - a shot of life" to encourage all the people to go and get vaccinated and to raise awareness about the Vaccine Drive in the nation.
