NEW DELHI: Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister of Kerala met Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union (JNUSU) president Aishe Ghosh at Delhi's Kerala House on Saturday.

Vijayan spoke with Ghosh and presented her with a book ‘Halla Bol: The Death and Life of Safdar Hashmi.

After the meeting, Vijayan tweeted, "Met the JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh (@aishe_ghosh). Expressed our solidarity to the students who are fighting for justice. Enquired about the condition of injured students. We believe in their resolve. Their fight will not go in vain."

Leaders from across the political spectrum have condemned the attacks on the students and teachers of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) inside the campus during which several masked individuals thrashed students and teachers with wooden and metal rods.

Two office-bearers of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union (JNUSU), including president Aishe Ghosh were badly injured. The JNUSU accused the RSS’ student wing Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) for the violence.

The ABVP, in return, has blamed the Left for the violence. It claimed that at least many of its activists were injured because of violence from Left students.
