Union minister Smriti Irani tests positive for COVID-19

New Delhi: Union Minister of Textiles Smriti Irani tested positive for the novel coronavirus. She has asked everyone who came in contact with her to do a COVID test at the earliest.

Irani took to her Twitter to inform about the same.

She wrote: "It is rare for me to search for words while making an announcement; hence here's me keeping it simple — I've tested positive for #COVID and would request those who came in contact with me to get themselves tested at the earliest."

The MP of Amethi, Irani had been actively involved in the campaigns for Bharatiya Janata Party in the assembly elections of Bihar. Many along with Nitin Gadkari had posted a tweet in response to her announcement, praying for her speedy recovery.
