The Vigilance Awareness Week for this year starts form October 26 to November 1 as per the guidelines of Central Vigilance Commission. This week of awareness leads campaign affirming the commitment of promoting transparency along with probity in the life of public by participation of the citizens.
The theme of Vigilance Awareness Week 2021 is "Independent India at 75; self-reliance with integrity". This particular theme was put forward by the Central Vigilance Commission to celebrate 75 years of the Independence of India by securing the integrity and togetherness in the life of general public to pave the way for the new age of self reliant India. Various institutions and companies from all over the country has been observing the Vigilance Awareness Week with great significance by taking pledge on the first day of the Awareness Week i.e. on 26 October.
The observance of the week by Central Electricity Authority starts by taking pledge by the employees of CEA at 11.00 AM on 26 October. The South Western Railway, Mysuru division and The Indian Institute of Management, Visakhapatnam are also observing the Vigilance Awareness Week with the enthusiasm to fight against corruption. The Awareness week is observed as an initiative to bring an end to corruption by raising voice against corruption and bringing awareness among the citizens to understand the cause of corruption and stand against it. The people must know the threat cause in a society due to the existence of corruption. In the process of awareness through the week it brings all the stakeholders together for the collective prevention from corruption.
