Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma expecting first baby together in January 2021

Guwahati: The internet is abuzz with the news that India's "it" couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are expecting their first baby together. The Indian team skipper, announcing the development through a post on social media, said that the couple is expecting their first child together to arrive in January of 2021.

Sharing a picture of the couple on social media in which Anushka has a conspicuous baby bump, Virat wrote in his caption, "And then, we were three! Arriving Jan 2021."

Needless to say, the picture has instantly gone viral. At the time of filing this report, the post on Facebook has over 7 lakh 'likes' and has been flooded with over 38,000 comments, with netizens congratulating the star couple for the good news.

Congratulatory messages flooded their posts instantly. Actress Alia Bhatt left heart emojis in the comments to Anushka's post, as did Varun Dhawan and Dia Mirza. "Congratulations," wrote Priyanka Chopra, Sania Mirza, Kiara Advani, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Parineeti Chopra, and Taapsee Pannu. "So so happy," wrote actress Mouni Roy. 

After a long period of courtship and immense speculation over their relationship status, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma finally got hitched in an intimate wedding in Tuscany, Italy on December 11, 2017.

Virat is not the only cricketer who has been using the time away from cricket to make babies.

Recently, a fellow man in blue, Hardik Pandya, also became a proud father. The all-rounder's partner Natasa Stankovic gave birth to a baby boy in July and Hardik shared the news on social media. "We are blessed with our baby boy," Pandya wrote alongside an image of the new-born baby.
