Siliguri: West Bengal's Special Task Force (STF) on Friday nabbed a militant from Siliguri, who belongs to Kamtapur Liberation Organisation (KLO).

According to report by ANI, the person was identified as Avinash Roy alias Jakey Assam's Kokrajhar.

According to STF, Roy was on a mission to extract money from the traders. The reports further indicated that several more militants have entered Siliguri and North Bengal along with the arrested Youth.

As per the Deputy Commissioner of Police Sudip Bhattacharya, Roy was living in Siliguri as labourer for the past six months.

He further apprised that a manhunt has been launched to ban the other members of the group. After producing before the court, he was sent to judicial for 14-days.

Notably, KLO was founded in 1990 is a far-left militant organization based in Northeast India. Its main objective is to carve out a separate state from the districts of north Bengal and Assam.

Later in 1995, KLO was declared as terrorist group by the centre.
