SAN FRANCISCO: As a part of the latest developments from the brand Twitter, users will now be able to upload full-length videos on the social media platform. This facility will be available only to the subscribers of the Twitter Blue service as of now.
Elon Musk has mentioned the new development of the popular microblogging platform. Earlier the owner had mentioned that the “Twitter 2.0 The Everything App". After an initial failure, the Twitter Blue subscription service was later upgraded to remove the errors. And the company has begun launching services exclusive to the subscribers of this service.
Elon Musk took to Twitter on Thursday to announce this new feature. According to the announcement, subscribers will now be able to upload full-length videos. He tweeted, “Twitter Blue Verified subscribers can now upload 2 hour videos (8GB)!”
The announcement got a lot of reactions from users of the social media platform and they seem to be equally divided among supporters of the decision and those who did not support the same.
But be it positive or negative, the truth remains that the platform is up for some major changes which will be giving tough competition to the existing players in the market including Meta - the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp and Alphabet - the parent company of Google, Youtube and several other products.
This comes as a part of the new business plan of the billionaire to bring in new features to the platform and make it more accessible for the people who subscribe to its paid services, while the remaining people and organisations can use the basic features. "Coming soon will be voice and video chat from your handle to anyone on this platform, so you can talk to people anywhere in the world without giving them your phone number," Elon Musk had tweeted about a week back.
