WhatsApp Planning to Roll Out New Features for Desktop

NEW DELHI: WhatsApp, the most popular online messaging application has launched the feature to track call history from within the desktop version of the application. This feature was earlier available only for mobile devices.

A report mentioned that the company has released the beta version for Windows desktops on the Microsoft Store. The new update allows the user to manage the call history form within the application itself. The new tab allows the users to access the list, but some discrepancies regarding synchronisation have also been reported. Sometimes calls made from the desktop version are not reflected on mobile devices. These problems are supposed because of the issues with the Beta version and are expected to the removed in the next version.

WhatsApp is the most popular online messaging application with India having its highest number of takers. The addition of these new features is aligned with the aim to bring a profit of $1 Billion from the Indian market in the next year.

Another new feature that has been reported for the app is the Screen Lock. This feature will prompt the user for a password every time the user opens the application. It will add an additional layer of security to the application and protect it from any unauthorised access to data. Many users already use custom applications to prevent unauthorised access to data through the application. Screen Lock will eliminate the use of these third-party applications. This feature has not been allowed for users yet but in the internal testing phase.

WhatsApp is the new application from the Meta family where they wish to make profits after their incomes from Facebook as well as Instagram are already going down. Amidst job cuts by Meta, customers across the country of India are now worried that the service of the apps might be affected in near future.
