New Delhi: A lawyer in Delhi has filed a case against 38 movie stars from Bollywood and Tollywood for disclosing the name of a rape victim on social media. The lawyer has demanded immediate arrest of all the 38 celebrities which includes influential figures like Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar among others.

The celebrities had previously shared the news of the rape of a 26-year-old to offer condolences as well as to condemn the crime committed against her.

According to the lawyer, Gaurav Gulati, the law does not permit the revelation of the name of a rape victim. Gulati has alleged that the celebrities have broken the law and set a bad example in front of the general public. He further said that the celebrities have not shown any social responsibility of maintaining the privacy of the rape victim and instead revealed her name. Therefore, the immediate arrest of the 38 movie stars of Bollywood and Tollywood has been demanded by the lawyer.

A report has been filed in connection to the incident under IPC Section 228 A at the Sabzi Mandi Police Station. Further, a petition has been filed at the Tees Hazari Court for the same.

The incident in question is the infamous 'Disha rape case' which had saddened the whole nation. A 26-year-old veterinary doctor was gang-raped, killed and then burnt by four men in Hyderabad while she was trying to return home after completing her day's service in a nearby village.
