Jaipur: The Rajasthan government has appointed six MLAs, including three independents, as advisors to the Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot after cabinet reshuffle.

After the oath of 15 ministers on Sunday, three Congress and three independent MLAs were made advisors to the Chief Minister, including Congress MLAs Dr. Jitendra Singh, Rajkumar Sharma, Danish Abrar, independent MLAs Sanyam Lodha, Babulal Nagar and Ramkesh Meena.

Dr Jitendra Singh was the Energy Minister in the previous Gehlot government. Rajkumar Sharma was also the Minister of State for Medical during while Mr Abrar is the Congress MLA from Sawai Madhopur.

Independent MLA Ramkesh was the previous parliamentary secretary, while Independent MLA Nagar was the Food Minister in the previous regime of the Gehlot government, who rebelled and contested as an independent from Dudu.

According to reports, it is expected that more MLAs can be made parliamentary secretaries.

On Sunday, 15 ministers took the oath after Rajasthan cabinet reshuffle expansion which included 12 new faces, fulfilling a key demand of Former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot whose rebellion last year shook the state's Congress government.

On Saturday, paving way for Cabinet reshuffle in Rajasthan all ministers submitted their resignation to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot at his official residence, where the meeting took place in this regard.
