NEW DELHI: In the latest turn of events in the sensational Shraddha Walkar murder case in which the victim's body was chopped into 35 pieces and later dumped across several places along the national capital, a letter from Shraddha written to the Police has come to light.
The letter reportedly addressed to the Police at Tulinj Police Station with the date shown as November 23, 2020 mentioned that Aaftab Poonawala, the accused in her murder case used to thrash her besides threatening to kill her.
This new angle in the sensational murder case has emerged after Shraddha's neighbour who accompanied her to lodge the police complaint shared it. Further, the Maharashtra Police while confirming the authenticity of the latter to have been written by Shraddha also stated that the complaint was written on November 23, 2020.
In the letter in question, the victim said that she did not have the courage to go to police as Aaftab had threatened to kill her. Shraddha further mentioned that on the day she was writing the letter, he threatened to kill her and cut her into pieces and throw her away.
The victim's letter also said, "I lived with him till date as we were supposed to get married anytime soon and had the blessings of his family. Henceforth, I am not willing to live with him. So, any kind of physical damage should be considered coming from him as he has been blackmailing me to kill me or hurt me whenever he sees me anywhere."
It may be mentioned here that the couple who initially interacted through a dating application got into a relationship in around 2019. But after the recovery of the letter, it seems like they did not apparently break up even after the police complaint. Both of them who were employed in call centres shifted to the national capital this year in May and lived at an apartment in the Mehrauli area.
The murder committed in the month of May came to light only last month after Shraddha Walkar's father approached the police after he came to know that she was not in contact with her friends too.
