Amaravati: Distressed over Andhra Pradesh government’s three-capital move, farmers of Amaravati on Tuesday wrote a letter to President of India Ramnath Kovind, seeking ‘mercy killing’.

Meanwhile, former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s wife N. Bhuvaneswari on Wednesday contributed her gold bangles for the ongoing movement by farmers to demand the continuation of Amaravati as the capital.

The farmers, who have been protesting for the last two weeks, wrote to the President that they were betrayed on the issue of State capital and if justice can’t be ensured to them they be allowed to kill themselves.

They said Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s decision to have three state capital has thrown them on to the roads.

“There is nobody to hear our voice and police are even booking attempt to murder cases against us,” they wrote. (IANS)
